The Tragic Fall of McCain

I always had great regard for John McCain. His name has been on many a bi-partisan bill that proves he would shake hands with whoever to get things done. I'm afraid it's that same quality that is his major down fall. He took the wrong hand. In order to get the far right he took on Palin. And she did get that audience however she simply turned off the middle of the road. Where she picked up six pack Joe she turned off the uncommitted and even Republicans. Where he decided on Carl Rove tactics like linking Obama to "terrorist", (college professor, respected member of Obama's community) William Ayers and suggeting that Obama through his elementary schooling "might be associated with terrorists." was appalling. McCain decided that becoming president was worth losing respect at least losing my respect. I am asahmed for him even as I see him in one day say to a woman Obama is not someone to be afraid of and than continue to openly court the lowest common denominator.

At the first debate I thought I would not be sad if either man was elected. Now I must admit, I'm afraid of McCain; I don't know what he is capable of doing to get what he wants. That makes me wonder how far would he go to WIN the war. Is it by any and all means and how will we know when he's won. By winning Bush's base he's lost my vote.
